FS 3 Learning Activity 2 Bulletin Board Display

         As I look around and examine board displays, here's the activity form provided to document my observations.

Name of School Observed: Camaman-an Elementary School
Location of the School: Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City
Date Visited: December 05, 2013



1. Number of Bulletins Board Displays: six (6) See here: pictures
2. Location of Bulletin Board Displays (BBD): Their are bulletins everywhere just like in the: Principal's             Office, some in the classrooms but the big Information Bulletin Board is the the entrance way maybe I           guess 5 meters away from the school  gate.
3. Describe each BBD in terms of the following:
    a. the message(s) it provides
        -Answer- The bulletin displayed is what exactly the students need to know in the school activities and                           other area. The different bulletins they have. have different functions and uses for teachers,                             students, parents, visitors and other key factor in education system.
    b. images and color
       -Answer- The images and color is well blend to the atmosphere of the bulletin itself.
    c. arrangement of information/messages
       -Answer- The bulletins' purpose is to inform everybody about a certain topic and I guess the schools'                            bulletin board achieved that goal.
4. Materials used in the display.
      -Answer- The materials used in the display, well some of it is plain white for the free board and a colorful                       board for the kid once. They also used tarpaulin in some aspects of a information.
5. Error notice, if any
      -Answer- the emphasis of most important information in the board
6. Boarders, if any
      -Answer- Yes, there are boarders for some bulletin board just like in the kids board it is really cute and colorful and a simple border of it.

     -Answer- The messages are clear and very understandable to the readers.

An Evaluation Report of a Bulletin Board

Location of Bulletin Board Display:  Five meters away from the schools' gate.
Description of the Bulletin Board: The board is made-up from a wood and printed color white then some flowers for its border. It is about 2 x 5 long.

Recommendations or Suggestions for Improvement

What they have now is good but to make it better, they date to sub-divided the board in different field/purposes and also when it is out of date but still need to put in the board they must make a new one to replace the torn faded information.


My Analysis

Describe the board display design  in terms of raising the target audience's interests.
 -Answer- The board display design can really raise the target audience's interest since the board displayed is very colorful and truly attract its audiences.

Use of the language in making the target audience's understanding of the information.
-Answer- The language used in the  bulletin board was understandable to the target audiences.The language used  is English and Filipino.

The intention of the board display.
-Answer- The most common intention of the material (BBD) is to update new things and to inform the target audience in a specific information. 

Your Suggestion
-Answer- BBD is very necessary to the students since this board will help them to know what is happening around the school. It is good if the teacher will address the weaknesses of the board they displayed.

Objectives: 
                  To be able to show the importance of nutrition in our body.
                  To let students  participate in the nutrition month celebration.

My Reflections

From what you have observed about the bulletin board display, what are the skills that must be  developed by a teacher?
-Answer- Organization about the topic and entries in the BBD. The teacher should have the skills in organizing the board.

Did you have any experience designing or making a bulletin board? Which skill do you already have?
-Answer- I don't have any experiences since I'm not into the field when I was in my High School years.

Are there skills you think you still need? 
-Answer- Yes, a lot. Exploring is best for me so that I can I have a knowledge about this area with the help of other people of course, just like having this kind of activity.
